Howdy y'all! If you happen to be in Austin, you should head out this Friday to Blowout VIII at Gallery Black Lagoon. I have a bitchin' print in it. If you can't, just enjoy the poster (4 colors, done in photoshop).

Boston College class portrait.
So my brother graduated from college in May, and as a graduation gift for him and his roommates, one if his roommate's parents commissioned me to do a portrait of all of them. This is part of the reason my animal posts have been somewhat sporadic.
Honestly, it took me way longer than it should have, but doing portraits is not the easiest thing, let alone doing nine of them. It's also fairly big at 12"x 16". So yeah, it's done and I'm happy.

Evil Head Hunt pt1

Howdy y'all, sorry for the long absence, I have been busy as fuck. However, I shall prolly be posting everyday this week cause shit is gunna be happenin!
ANYHOO though, this is my rendition of Tom Huck's Evil Head for the PBR Evil Head Hunt. About 15 artists have done their interpretation of the Evil Head and they are being screenprinted by hand (by yours truly and the immortal A.J. Lovell) on coasters that are going to be at bars around St. Louie for SGC for all you humble partakers of Pabst Blue Ribbon. Collect and win a prize or something. I don't know all the details and don't have a link because I don't have facebook but I'll update with more info and pictures in the coming days.
Cowabunga Dick Weasels.
PS. my original redraw of the Evil Head is here. I drew it again to make it easier to print and also, I hate everything I do after about 5 minutes, so i needed to give it another go.

Holy shit! She's a Robot!

Cover art for Julian + little bunny EP that I just finished. You can check it out on facebook or here . It was a little short notice so I sorta wish I had more time to work on it but I think I'll get over it.
Anyway, as a result of this and some other bullshit going on, comic will be up tomorrow. Oops.
One week into it and I'm already late. Balls.

Chief!

Drawing I just finished recently inspired by classic tattoo flash that will soon be turned into a screenprint. Drawn in 4 layers by hand with pen and then colored in photoshop.
Also its up on threadless so if you wanna see it on a t-shirt then you should probably give it some o' yer ol' votes.

The Saint Paul Review: Intro!
As of right now, if y'all aren't aware, I live in St.Louis Missouri, however I will, most likely, only be here for another year or so. With that in mind I have decided to try as many varieties of my favorite St.Louis cuisine, the St. Paul sandwich. What is a St. Paul sandwich, you ask? Well a St. Paul is made up of white bread, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, mayonnaise, and...egg foo yong! And it's fucking awesome. So over the next year I am going to be sampling these delights from as many chinese restaurants as possible and am going to be reviewing them right here! So look forward to that...in the future!

This is a drawing I did in...January, I think? I was initially going to make it into a screenprint but i may never do it as it is very low on my list of priorities. So whether I end up doing that or not, I figure I may as well let the internet see it. fucking METAL, right?
more info about st. pauls can be found at wikipedia!

gather round! it's design time!
So this is a design I just finished doing up for my girlfriend's Second Life space called Deadbolt, that also hosts a gallery of my work. So if you're into that Second Life thing you can see it here .

ALSO, here is another design that I just did a couple of weeks ago for the Washu printmaking department for sweatshirts that are going to be printed...apparently? I dunno, I haven't seen them yet so I don't know if it's true or not.

Finally, here is a design I did for a friend of mine who goes to school up at Marquette University. I did this about 2 years ago I would guess and damn, I've drawn alot more robots since then.

Till next time!

Bootleg Evil Head
So as you may well know, or not, I work at Evil Prints in Saint Louis which is a print shop owned, run, and ruled with an iron fist by the one and only Tom Huck . Well we were trying to come up with another evil prints t-shirt design and in the course of sketching up idears I decided I need to draw my own Evil Head. What is the Evil Head you might be asking yourself right now, scratching your head with your Dorito orange stained fingers. WELL, the Evil Head is the Evil Prints symbol...the end. And, it looks like this:

Pretty nifty eh? Well, I drew up my own and am gunna screen print it on a shirt for myself. Me. And me alone. No one else can have it. I gots dibs.

In other news...my girlfriend is snoring next to me and it's pretty fucking adorable. SRSLY. I could eat her up.
And also, more real news soon, including images from my show and some new sketch work and proofs from "The Matters of Grey". WOOHOO! HOLY SHIT! DON'T MISS IT (you won't)!

Two-Headed Monster Robot! Fight!

Poster I collaborated on with my friend Jun Nakamura for our upcoming show at the end of February (the 26th to be exact). If you are in the St. Louis area you should most def come out, it'll be pretty awesome...hopefully...at least not a total pile of shit. The show will have a bunch of my prints as well as a bunch of Jun's AND a few prints that we both worked on together. There will be some other stuff there too that should be pretty neat to look at with your eyeballs.
The show is going to be at the Community Arts Media Project or, CAMP, and go from 6pm till 10pm. It'll be good fun, bring your friends! Between now and then I'll post a few images of the collaborative prints and a few other ones that I haven't bothered to put up.

year end roundup part II: illustration.
Alrighty dighty, I know the end of the year is at an end but I had some shits come up so I wasn't able to get this all together in time. Do you really care? I should hope not. More to come soon...by more I mean end-of-year stuff...yeah.

This was an assignment from an illustration class I took last semester, the assignment was to illustrate seven birds: owl, flamingo, cardinal, penguin, ostrich, blue bird, and woodpecker. I created a series of 2-d cutouts with acrylic paint and mounted them in a 3-d set. The photographs didn't turn out quite as well as the actual set, but meh.
This was actually very similar to another project I did two years ago.

The following illustrations were from an assignment that was a series of 15 illustrations all done at 4x4". They were in sets of three, with five different types of media. Each one had to illustrate a single word that we were given.
PAINT!

"venus fly trap."

"kiwi."

"wrist watch."
PEN n' INK

"surgeon."

"astronaut."

"bear."
CUT CONSTRUCTION PAPER(one of these has been omitted from the series for SUCKING)

"stop light."

"owl."
COLOR'D PENCIL

"peach tree."

"milk."

"eel."
COLLAGE/cut out magazine images (TWO of these have been omitted for SUCKING/this method is hard/looks like shit)
"moped."

oldies but...okaysies?

All line work done by hand, ev'rything else done in PHOTOSHOOOOOOP.
Just puttin' up some old things to add to the THOUSANDS of images your eyeballs are inundated with everyday. Just some variously illustrations I did, the first was for the Washu junior printmaking show which I ended up screen printing over a hundred times on cards and a dozen of so times for posters, and the others were just some assignments I had in an illustration class I took last semester. Meh. Do with them what you will.
In "bloggy" type news, since this is a blog an all and i'm allowed (am I?) to rattle off about personal bullshit, I only have two days until I'm off school for Christmas break...FUCKING STOKED. Oh so much work shall be done. It will be grand. Ah. Btw, that wasn't sarcastic...and neither is this part or the last part...Srsly...okay? Goddammit.

quick like a fish.

This is a semi-quick drawing I did for the cover of the upcoming (when I don't fucking know) Whammo Press zine "Tall Tales". I tried to work in a simpler style as the way I usually work can be a bit difficult to screen print. So, this will, to the best of my knowledge, be the cover for the zine that includes this lil' comic page I did. I'll be posting an update when that comes out with photomos of said cover etc. blah blah etc. blah.
On a completely unrelated topic, have you (the third person internet entity) seen "District 9"? If not you TOTALLY should. I was really surprised. Is good. See it. Watch it. Love it.
Fin.

i am going to kill myself, reanimate, then kill myself again.
Alright holy shit, I have been busy as fuck. I have my final bullshittings (read as "critiques") monday and tuesday so I have been swamped trying to get worked finished. The good news with that is that soon I shall be free from school and have more time to do what I want and more importantly WHEN i want.
In other news my cat is trying to eat our christmas tree right now and I think I am going to murder him. It'll be one of those murder-suicides you know? Whatever, I'm sure you'll see it on the news.
Anyway, before I start rambling, here are two album covers(art and typography) I did over the summmer for two bands off the Realicide label. Both of them are amazing though Praey has disbanded. Hopefully they will do something else cause they are baller dudes and made some good stuff while they were together. And Mavis is a fucking dope motherfucker. Fuck!

no exskullmations.

Bluh. Been sick the past couple days and just sortof lazing about sleeping and such. It's a bit nice to have the break but I haven't been able to get much work done. Oh well. Instead of just babbling about nothing interesting, I present you... a shitty drawing. I did this for a zine that is being put together by Whammo Press, which is my print programs shitty "press". I'll prolly regret mentioning that later but whatever. Too sick to really think much.
