They Don't Love You Like I Love You.
SO, I did this block about 6 months ago as part of a printing/show, up in Milwaukee, WI, at Redline, to which I was invited by my friend Jenie Gao . However I did it in such a short period of time, and it stressed me out so much, after I finished, I just wanted to forget about it. Anyway, I only recently got the edition finished (edition of 13 for super conceptual reasons) and just got it photographed.
Enjoy. Or don't.
30" x 20" block printed on 34" x 25" lenox paper. One of the first woodcuts I've done on plywood in FOREVER. Which reminded me how awesome MDF is.

Molded Heroes: JUDGEMENT.

So this is my final piece for the Molded Heroes show, entitled, "The Beheading of Shredder and Other Acts of Teenage Mutant Violence".
I made it up to Aurora for the show Saturday, and I must say I was mighty impressed with what Mike did. He put on a fucking awesome show and did a killer job with everything.
You can buy this print over at the Sixty Bones Store so go fucking buy it and help a brother out!
You can also find Jun Nakamura's print "Faust, After Rembrandt" over there, that I being the awesome guy that I am, printed for him. So go buy his shit too!

Leap of Faith.

Not the best picture, but this is the print I have been busting my ass to finish before SGC. 2 x 3 foot linoleum cut. Done in about a month. I had about half of the edition printed on Saturday but ended up selling most of them. The final edition will be a total of 26 prints. Phew. Glad its done. I'll probably post some more images of this later, of the block and some close ups and such. And if you missed it, you can see a part of the block as I was working on it in this old preview.
Thats all for today Kiddos!

PUSHbot

Kay so I was wearing this shirt...NOW and realized that I had never put it up on the bloggy-blogs so I figure now would be not such a bad time to do so. Shitty webcam photo because I am the lazy. But yeah, done last summer, printed it on some t-shirts and hoodies and such, pretty much never made it onto paper but once or twice.
In other newzzz and speaking of t-shirts, joined the ol' threadless for shits and grins, am going to be putting things up there every so often, so you might wanna just go ahead and checcck it out!

Two-Headed Monster Robot! Fight! Recap!
So Jun put up some images from our show so I'm not going to bother reposting them here so you can mosey over there and take a peek if'n you wanna.
Also, here are a few pieces that I haven't bothered putting up but were in that show so why the hell not put em up now eh?!
"twelve stories up, one step down", five plate color etching
part of an unfinished series I was doing last year called "The Deaths of Unicorn Boy" but abandoned because it was stupid. Oh wells.
"star wars", three plate etching with chine colle
printed separately but combined here so it's easier to see and understand, ya'know?
"agoraphobics anonymous", two plate color etching
"loves me not", woodcut
done for valentine's day and was originally printed as cards, will prolly be printed in that form again for next year and be available on etsy? maybe? if I ever get around to getting that set up...sigh. another thing I still need to do.
"rabbits fear no robots"
12" x 15" x 8"
found object (rabbits), wood, chipboard, paper mache, paint, ink, blahblah etc.
additional view here!

year end roundup part I: woodcuts.

In my searching through my images and such, I have stumbled upon a number of prints I have either a] forgotten to upload b] are too embarrassing to post or c] have not been photographed (/completed to my satisfaction). Of the ones that fall into category a, here are a few woodcuts that I forgot to put up but aren't TOTAL shit. I mean they are pretty shit or I would have remembered to post them but you know...
Other end of the year posts to come shortly, 2010 will look a lot different, mainly because there will be a lot more in process shit/me griping about personal and work bullshit/etc.
ALSO. Etsy things should be up soon if I can stay on task and/or feel the necessity to deal with an arseload of trivial crap.
FOR THE EARLY BIRDS: more info about prints to come later today, too tired to deal with that shite at the moMENT.

the UNDEAD! live!
okay not really. Just more old woodcuts. Meh. These are the last of the ones I did the past year...well, most of them. Anything else is either not worth seeing or will be updated later as part of other things. That sounds cryptic. Don't worry, it's not.
"woodcunts!" 7.5x7.5"
Done for an end of the school year print exchange. Mine was the best, of course.
"nom nom nom (editioned version)" woodcut with india ink wash, 10x16"
"enslave yourself!" 1 to 3 layer woodcut, 6x8.5"
printed on 30 7x10" pages torn out of a book on U.S. presidents.
first: one layer, second: three layers, third: two layers
everyone of these was slightly different as it comprised different background and different combinations of layers.
"robots > humans" 4 layer woodcut, bleed print, 13.5x20"
This one was inspired (in part) by the great Sean Star Wars' style of doing woodcuts, specifically the pickup. I attempted to use the rough sketching that he does but just couldn't get myself to do. I require planning. Oh, well. If you don't know him though, check him out, he's the fucking BOSS and a killer dude ta boot.

new print/new news

Alright just editioned this here print, its 4x6" etching on copper printed on Somerset with a Kitakata japanese paper chine colle. Jesus Christ isn't that fucking COOL?!
So yeah it'll be up on Etsy before Christmas I hope, assuming that it doesn't sell out over the weekend. SPEAKING OF WHICH, some of my prints are going to be up for sale at an Art Sale that is going on at the Lewis Center here in Saint Louis. It's in the Loop area so if you're around there this weekend you should check it out.
ALSO, more news, this past weekend this new print, along with a few others, was up in a show called "This is Why We Can't Have Nice Things" at a gallery (whose name I can't remember) on Cherokee Street during the Cherokee Street Print Fair.

AND some of my prints that were being sold by Whammo Press at the fair, were photographed and made it up on the RiverFront Times site. Not THRILLING but, y'know, sortof cool or whatever. Check it out. RFT print slideshow
