Failing my promise to upload everyday.

So I failed my attempt to upload everyday but I (taking fully responsibility) don't have a scanner and forgot my flash drive full of new shit back in Austin.

Whatever, here is a shitty drawing I did on the back of a Steak n' Shake place mat! Sorry.

HEY! You with the dickface!

Missed yesterday as I was in transit back to St. Louis and such, so double image day.
I forgot my flash drive of new work back in Austin so I am going to have to either pump out some new stuff or figure out something to complete my goal of new shit till Christmas, as I think this is the last of the Dickface series that is finished.  Fingers crossed!

Feeling you up with my eyes.

Drawing I did the other day.  Part of a potential series of drawings where I take small shitty doodles and redraw them big with india ink but then cross hatch the fuck out of them.  Meh. ENJOY!

Some more dick.

Double pager woot!  Still from over the summer.
However, I do need to change this as I realized that arsenic isn't technically organic since it doesn't come from a carbon based source.  Hurray science!

Tomorrow: more recent shit.

Dickface 2: Guteater

Basically a reboot of this old woodcut which was a roboot of an even earlier woodcut (that was way too shitty to even bother photographing).  Yeah, part of the unfinished zine done over the summer.

DICKFACE 2! double the displeasure.

Two images from my (still) unfinished zine "Dickface pt.II: Occcupy my Dick" that I did over the summer.

Recent work coming soon(ish).

NOT DEAD.

Grad school has done its best to destroy me, but I am still alive.

Starting tomorrow, new uploads everyday until Christmas. (Hopefully)

Back from the future.

Looky what I got today!  8" 60 durometer brayer from Takach. FUUUCK YESSSS.

So yeah, been a little absent...for awhile.  I moved to Austin, Texas, started grad school, and have been making shit that I need to upload.  Found out that most art peoples don't like printmaking, cartoons, or narrative work.  Also found out that I was right and that most art peoples are elitist pseudo-intellectual dipshits.

Side note, have been thinking about starting a group/forum/subreddit (y'all are on reddit right?) called "printrats" that would basically be people who make prints, aren't famous, but aren't fucking amateur dillweeds who have done ONE shitty print of an anime character.  Email me if you are interested in helping with this.

So yeah, posting some new shit in the next few days.

"Dickface." vol.2 preview. run chicken run.

HOWDY.
So the new "dickface." is slightly different than the last, in that instead of being double paged for each image, they are all single paged and are (hopefully) done better.  The collage aspect of the zine is done digitally instead of by hand.  The new zine, which is, (fingers crossed) going to contain 18 images in total for the free version, but I hope to do a few more for a future more handmade version.  ANYWAY, whatever, we'll see what happens.  Until then, enjoy this preview.  This is one of the eight I have finished...10 more to go!

Also, if you are interested in following more closely what is going on with this project, follow me on twitter @roboticarms, and specifically my hashtag #occupymydick, the title of volume 2. WOO! yeah. enthusiasm.

ps. YES i did fuck up the title of my own work in the url.

dickface vol.1 part 1/3

Oh hai. Been awhile hasn't it?

News and updates shall be coming soon, but for right now let's just discuss the here and now okay?  AT THE MO I am working on a follow up to a zine/book/piece of shit thing I did 4 years back now called, "dickface."  I have meant to get this off the ground a number of times and figured now would be a good a time as any and also as kindof a last big thing before (spoiler alert!) I left St. Louis.

So here is the cover and the first five images from the book I did all those years back.  VOL.2 of "dickface." entitled "#occupymydick" is going to have a similar look and feel but hopefully be better, with more images and the like.  Enjoy! Parts two and three to come shortly as well as teasers for the new one.

Incisivosaurus. 83/183.

Only a hundred left to go! WOO! I understand now why Jun decided to make this a pixel drawing (check it out ) because it is hard to find good representations. Oh wells! Did my best!

Chiaroscuro style! Sortof. Also drawn by hand, haven't done that in a while. coloured in photomoshop.

Iguana. 82/183.

In honor of Darwin's 203rd birthday, two animals today!
Today's drawing by guest artist Lindsay Deifik . So big thanks to her!

Happy Darwin Day!

Ibex. 81/183.

Done all digitally, with four colours: 0C0E39, BE1414, FF7010, FFD24B. Or in other words, purple, red, orange, and yellow.
Needed a break from the comic. drawing is way quicker than digital painting.

"Fatuous Fears" preview deux!

Preview of the second panel of the comic I am working on. This comic is taking forever, and it didn't really help that my 8 year old tablet decided to give up the ghost and I had to buy another. Sigh. Oh well, my new tablet is the shiznit. And yeah, plugging along.

ps. those aren't testicles.

"Fatuous Fears" preview

SO, this is a preview of the first panel to a comic I am currently working on.  I came up with the concept and did the sketch for it like a year ago and never did anything with it.  Since I recently was scolded by someone for not having done any new comics, I decided to resurrect "Machines Made of Meat" with a super detailed photoshop painted comic.  This panel isn't even finished yet, nor are the other three, but it's going to take a bit to get done.  ANYWAY enough rambling.

Peace out.

Check it!

Mike Pennekamp and I got our picture in Eleven Magazine from back when we did the Cherokee Street Print Fair.  Pretty cool eh? Don't answer that.

Christopher Hitchens sketch.

So I am considering doing a series of portraits of people I like and that inspire me, but I'm not sure if I'm going to do it yet, so I decided to get back into drawing people from images. Thus, I did this quick sketch of Christopher Hitchens, it took almost an hour but it was so small I had trouble adding more to it. Yeah, whatever, just a sketch for a future project, maybe.

Yes, the eye is a little wonky.

Every Thing Will Be Okay.

Alright so it has been ALMOST a year since I posted a preview of my pinocchio print and it has appeared at numerous shows and print fairs since then but I never got the final image photographed properly so TADA! 24" x 12", woodcut with india ink wash. Bam!

They Don't Love You Like I Love You.

SO, I did this block about 6 months ago as part of a printing/show, up in Milwaukee, WI, at Redline, to which I was invited by my friend Jenie Gao . However I did it in such a short period of time, and it stressed me out so much, after I finished, I just wanted to forget about it. Anyway, I only recently got the edition finished (edition of 13 for super conceptual reasons) and just got it photographed.

Enjoy. Or don't.
30" x 20" block printed on 34" x 25" lenox paper. One of the first woodcuts I've done on plywood in FOREVER. Which reminded me how awesome MDF is.
